The name for R3Now started many years ago with SAP’s R3 product. Unfortunately, this betrays our age and in an attempt to re-brand, there was no easy way to do this, so, R3Now Consulting is still around, but we are doing business as (dba) IITRun.

Because there was so much infrastructure, so many assets, and a significant amount of investment and effort in developing and building R3Now over the years it became almost impossible to update and re-brand. I suspect many SAP customers and organizations face the same issue today with the transition from ECC to S/4HANA.
- Do you do a greenfield and completely re-deploy?
- Do you do brownfield and just accept the artifacts from the past?
- Or, do you do something in between?
For us, after a careful evaluation, we recognized we had to keep the shell of R3Now Consulting but to continue to be relevant, and move on with the Digital Age we had to completely rebuild as well.
As many of you face your S/4HANA evaluations you have certainly discovered it is not an easy decision. For us, we opted for the “greenfield” approach while retaining our legacy heritage as long as necessary. If you want to check out the new site you will see it is significantly different. The entire focus has gone from technology delivery (R3Now) to digital business enabled by technology (Innovate. Integrate. Transform. Run…).

Please keep in mind it is a work in progress and there is over 15 years worth of knowledge capital to transfer from this site, and huge numbers of templates, tools, methods, and resource to convert. So, please know, we definitely understand the struggles with the S/4HANA decision!
