How to Best Prepare Your Business for Spring

Industry tips – How to Best Prepare Your Business for Spring

In today’s industry tips we’ll be covering How to Best Prepare Your Business for Spring!
When it comes to best preparing your business for spring, there are many factors to consider. Whether you are getting ready for your peak business time, or winding down and getting ready for your slow season, it’s always best to be prepared for the time ahead. In the spirit of spring cleaning, we reached out to businesses from all over, to get insight on how they prepare for this season full of bloom!

Implement a Simple Office Cleaning Routine

The concept: Implement a 2 to 10-minute office/desk/work area cleaning routine for employees to follow altogether on Mondays mornings right after everybody gets to work.

Although this might sound a bit cliche at first, but truth is, if implemented successfully, this behavior hack can bring in a handful of awesome long-term benefits:
Physical and health benefits: – Truth is, we often get lost in our daily routine and neglect hygiene at our office desk. Wiping your PC keyboard, screen, mouse, shelves, etc is a step forward to a healthy environment.
Psychological – Morale and discipline – A great comparison would be the one with communal sport and its effects on teamwork and neighbourhood relations. When all employees do their part in the 5-minute office wipe, it will improve the sense of responsibility before your pride/department.
Improves organisation – Leaving only 5 detergent sprayers for 20 employees acts as a practical hack to improve sharing, teamwork and communication.
Overall productivity – To encourage employees into caring and organising their work desk on a daily basis is an amazing behavioural hack into improving overall productivity and joy of work

Prepare for Peak Season by Placing your Best Foot Forward

Our preparation starts with fixing spring cleaning service rates and calculate the discounts we can offer. After that we publish them on the banners of our website, for our regular customers to get familiar with. The second step is getting stacked to the ceiling with the tools, detergents and all other equipment we may need.. This process begins in the middle of the winter. Our vehicles have to be spot on to avoid any accidents, the teams are often in a rush and we are not taking any risks! All of the cars are getting a technical check and a proper wash. After all, they carry our brand and if they are not cleaned, what is that saying about our job. There is one key step that I have turned into a tradition here. Sometimes the jobs really overwhelm us and in order to keep the moral up I like to include an extra bonus to the salaries in spring.

On top of that the team that gets the most jobs done is winning a three days vacation with 200£ per person of pocket money. And the guy or girl that booked the most clients get a spa procedure. I look out for offers and get the hotel booked by the end of the winter, because the prices are usually lower.

Start New Initiatives

As a storage company, the arrival of spring means, our customers will gradually move towards different services.

For example, we can sell someone a secure space for their motorcycle over the winter, some business overflow storage space in the spring and some temporary household storage space for when they are moving home.

The arrival of spring means we’ve got to tweak our marketing efforts to better target our customers’ requirements. For example, during the drier months, we roll back motorcycle storage advertising and during the warmer months, we really push temporary household storage.
