Bride-To-Bride Advice

So, I am back after a long break with some exciting posts lined up.

Recently, I came across a bride who got married on Saturday 23rd July, 2016. She had a fabulous ceremony and an amazing reception. But, she also learned some valuable things and she has shared this with other bride-to-be.

So here it is, from one bride to another, here is what Marlene Kemp has to say:-

"The night before your wedding never goes the way you think it will. Instead of the relaxing spa day and hanging with the girls we had 35-50 out of town guests to feed. Wouldn't change it for the world, just wasn't the plan.

When someone says can I help, say yes. I had last minute things to set up during the reception and my teenage guests were thrilled to have something to do.

I set up a children's table with coloring books, crayons and glow sticks . Huge hit with the kids, parents and servers. The adults actually took all the glow sticks ( should have had more) but the kids got them after the adults lost interest.

Let it go. Stuff didn't get done that I had planned and no one but me knew.

Make the list of family photos for the photographer as they asked. Mine didn't get sent and we had to wing it. A few shots we didn't get.

Eat cake. I didn't get any as I was too busy handing it out.

Visit with people. Wished I had more time with some of the guests.

Hire good vendors. All of ours were fantastic and made the day so much better.

Weird but I actually didn't see the groom much at the reception. We both went around visiting guests and dancing but rarely together.

Laugh. We messed up during the ceremony and cracked everyone up.

I was a nervous wreck for weeks. The day of, I was calm as could be.

The day will fly by. I wore my contacts instead of glasses and I don't see as well, but look awesome. I regret not changing over as I couldn't see details, like what the cake actually looked like. It was literally a blur.

I brought a bag with a change of shoes which I needed. I also had a bride emergency kit which I didn't need but several guests did.

The wedding night we fell exhausted into bed and never moved again. Just don't have any expectations of it being romantic.

The hotel offered to have me come in and check out their rooms but I said no, not necessary, should have done it. Our room was too small for everyone getting ready.

Have fun. Best compliments were those who said how much fun they had. "
