2016 and Wedding Industry

Tags: wedding
A Wedding is an important event in a person’s life. The wedding industry is one of the most profitable industries. According to a poll of 18,000 American brides who were married in 2011, the average cost of their big day was $27,021. If that's the case, then the approximately 2.1 million weddings that occurred last year would have created an industry worth almost $60 billion.

In the report, Wedding Report founder Shane McMurray states that he expects the number of weddings to stay flat or increase slightly this year. In addition, the report states that the U.S. nuptials will remain between 2.1 million and 2.2 million per year “for many years” to come.

Wedding trends change every year. New and new wonderful trends ranging from clothing, accessories, decor, hairstyle, etc come up every year. If you're getting married in 2016, your wedding planning is probably well under way. So you already must be aware of the latest or the upcoming trends.

Recently, I conducted a small survey to find out what wedding trend will be most seen in 2016. I asked few of my friends, readers and some wedding experts about 2016 wedding trends and here is what I found.

1) The dress

The classic ball gown is now outdated and more and more brides are opting for something that makes her look sexier. The mermaid dress look is really going to be the most trending bridal look in 2016. Brides are opting for dresses that flaunts their curves and give them a sophisticated yet sexier look.

2) Colors

Brides are opting for calm, vibrant and bright colors. Also the fashion of wearing mismatching bridesmaid dress is going to get more popular in 2016. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are a stunning look.

3) Food

It’s time to say goodbye to the classic food dishes. Couples are having new and different food dishes for their wedding. One of my readers told me that he is going to have fast food stalls at the wedding venue. Also the traditional desserts are being replace by some yummy deserts like donuts, chocolates, cupcakes, etc. Wedding cakes are being customized in such a way that they tell the love story and the journey of the couple.

4) Decor

Couples in 2016 are opting for simple yet elegant decor. One of my reader said his brother is having a wedding with the theme simplicity. He is going to keep everything simple. Simple looks are pretty. They have a dreamy and royal look in a budget friendly way. Freshly picked common flowers are another point to be added in this look. Rather than spending a lot of money on some rare flowers, couples will go for whatever is in-season and local, opting for free form bouquets and centerpieces.

5) Others

Couples will be choosing more and more informal places to exchange their vows. These places may be related to some special event of their life like maybe the place where they first met, etc. Wedding favors will be more and more personalized. These may include homemade cookies, diy gifts, etc.

So, in conclusion, 2016 is going to be all about colors, simplicity, custom made and personalised things and non traditional looks.
