The Pre Wedding Checklist

When it comes to weddings, one has to start preparing and arranging stuff a year in advance. Yes, that's right, planning a perfect Wedding can take up to one year at the least.

In this post I will be helping you plan your wedding in a less stressful way with the help of a Pre-Wedding Schedule.



I have prepared this schedule with the help of a WEDDING PLANNER app.




12 to 10 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Once you have got engaged, the first thing you got to do is officially announce your engagement to your families, relatives and friends.

Sit down with your partner and both your families and plan out who pays for what.

Start a budget and try your best not to cross it.

Select a tentative date and place. By the end of the 10th month this should be finalized.

Start a wedding folder or binder. Begin leafing through bridal, lifestyle, fashion, gardening, design, and food magazines for inspiration.
Create a rough guest list so that you know the rough estimate of how many people will be there.

Choose a theme.



Choose your best man, maid of honor and bridesmaids. They are going to be there with you and assist you through rest of the wedding planning.

If you wish, you can create your own wedding website or a blog to keep your family and friends updated and to share special moments.

You can hire a professional wedding planner or a wedding coordinator if you wish.

Check out different caterers, photographers and musicians for your wedding. Get quotations and compare them. Attend gigs to decide on a musician.

If you wish you can attend pre - marital course or counselings.

Start looking for wedding tailors if you want custom made wedding clothes. Get quotation from different tailors and compare them along with ready made wedding clothes found online. This will help you in getting a budget idea.

If you wish you can throw an engagement party for your friends.

Start checking out honeymoon locations and compare prices.


9 to 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Prepare a final guest list with the help of you tentative guest list. Talk to your parents and your partner while preparing a final guest list.

Start exercising and get in shape for your wedding if you wish.

Book your wedding venue, your caterer, photographer, videographer, musician/DJ/band.

Order your wedding gown or hire a tailor to make a custom made wedding gown.

 

Start trying out wedding veils, shoes, hairstyles.

Order or hire a tailor to stitch your bridesmaids/ flower girl's dress.

Start planning honeymoon.

Send save-the-date cards. This is a particularly good idea if you're marrying during a tourist or holiday season or having a destination wedding.

Browse wedding cake designs and wedding flowers on the internet. By the end of 6 months you should have made a decision.


5 to 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Shop for wedding rings. Compare prices at different jewelers shops.



Start thinking about the different traditions or performances you are going to have at your wedding.

Check out your invitations. Get quotations and compare prices. By the end of this time period you should have already placed an order for your invitation cards

Hire a caterer. Discuss the menu for your reception.

Have a check on your tailor, photographer, DJ, decorator, etc.

You can have a pre wedding shoot if you wish.

Get ideas for wedding favors.

Confirm dates for bridal shower and bachelorette / bachelor party.

Reserve the venue, rental equipment such as chairs, tables, etc if you have not done it already.

Have a trail wedding hair and makeup if you wish.

3 TO 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Notify any family members or friends whom you would like to give readings, or any performance during the ceremony or reception.

Choose a person to do your wedding speech.

Hire a choir and  a compere.


Keep your wedding blog/ website updated.

Send out save the dates.

Buy any small wedding accessory that you would need.

You can join dance class and start preparing for your dance.

Have a check on your honey-moon planning.

Finalize your wedding transportation. (Any car in particular, or bus for guests.)

Keep updating your blog and website.

Get your invitation and start putting them into envelope and naming each one of them. Mail invitations to out of town guests.


2 to 1 MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING


Have your first bridal gown fitting. Remember to bring stockings, shoes, the appropriate bra, hair accessories, jewelry, a camera, etc.

Finalize ceremony readings, hymns, and review the readers.

Finalize the performance for the reception.

Finalize your music, first dance songs, etc.

Order liquor/beverages if it is not handled by caterer.

Meet your officiant to finalize the ceremony including formations.

Your wedding ban announcements.

Get your thank you notes ready.

Apply for marriage license from court.


4 to 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Finalize your jewelry which may include your four somethings.

Make your advance payments to all those providing service.

Get your vows ready.

Get the bouquet ready.

Talk to your wedding reception compere and finalize things.

2 to 1 WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING

Have your final gown fitting.




Have dress fitting for your bridesmaids.

Confirm all your beauty appointments.

Pick up all the dresses and other wedding clothes and make sure all of your accessories are together.

Finalize your vows.

Confirm final headcount.

Get your hair colored or trimmed.

Pack for your wedding night and honeymoon.

Make sure the wedding toast and thank you speech is ready.



DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING


Prepare a list of payment envelopes.

Hand out the necessory things to the people you have assigned them too. (Like wedding rings to your bridesmaid or parents)

Give your family members some responsibilities like for eg. make some one in-charge of distributing wedding favors.

Get manicure, pedicure, beauty treatments.

Whatever last minute things are to be done do it now itself.

Rehearse your vows.



WEDDING DAY





It's the big day. You may be a little nervous but don't worry. The most special day of your life has just begun.

Relax. Have a relaxing bath.

Be sure to wear a button down shirt for your hair and make up appointments.

Don't stress about anything.

Just relax and enjoy each second of this day.

Don't be late.


AFTER THE WEDDING


Get your wedding dress cleaned and preserved.





Preserve your bouquet.
Meet your photographer and videographer to finalize the albums and video.

Make any payments if left.

Go to your honeymoon and enjoy a happily married life.
