Our very own Bips is in a jubilant mood. And why not? After months of denying rumours of her romantic involvement with Karan Singh Grover, we now have a set date for the official Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover marriage – 30th April. But just how did this come to be? And how did the TV (largely) actor, who’s already been in two failed marriages, get to Bipasha’s heart anyway?
And then, was Bipasha involved with Karan’s split with ex-wife Jennifer Winget? We can’t say for sure, but let’s take a look at how the events transpired.
Karan Singh Grover’s Past Wives… A Red Flag?
Grover’s status as a “youth icon” still persists to this day, even though the show that people have come to know and love him for – Dill Mill Gaye – has been off-air for more than a year and half. However, it was his time filming for the movie Alone that would end up changing his romantic life ‘again,’ in the words of good friend Sehban Azim.
The reason for Sehban pointing that out, of course, is the fact that Karan had been married two times prior, both of which associations – rather unceremoniously and quickly – ended in divorce.
First, there was Shraddha Nigam, fresh-faced TV actress and fashion designer, to whom Karan was married for just under a year. The reason for their split was Karan’s supposed infidelity and the carrying on of extramarital affairs.

Then came Jennifer Winget. This time, the relationship lasted just about two years. The two had been friends for years, and everything seemed to point out that marriage was the next option. In Jennifer’s words “When we got together, both of us just knew that we’ll be spending the rest of our lives with each other.” Unfortunately, that didn’t turn out to be the case, with Karan confirming their impending divorce on Twitter stating that the “reasons were too personal to share.”
Bipasha Basu’s Love For The Horror Genre Spawns Love
Coming back to how one movie would change the lives of its two stars, it’s no secret that Bipasha Basu loves horror flicks (just look at the number she has done throughout her career!). Alone, the latest such horror indulgence, sees Bips next to a very hunky Karan Singh Grover, and even though the film’s Sanjana/Anjana angle and sub-par screenplay left a lot to be desired, the steamy sequences between the two were a saving grace, and the chemistry was hard to miss.
The principal photography for Alone as well as Karan’s ongoing divorce seemed to have overlapped in their timelines, and when the rumour mill exploded with talk of how close Bipasha and Karan had become after Alone, the two denied any allegations of “link-ups” vehemently. Still, it was not hard to see – a myriad of social media posts can testify – that Karan was getting on after the divorce just fine.
“No. No. No. No.” “We’re Just Really Close”
Karan, when interviewed right after his marriage to Winget, spoke of how he liked to keep personal details, well, personal. Which is why he never spoke of the reasons for his split with any of his ex-wives or anything else generally.
Bipasha, on the other hand, is known to be fairly candid when it comes to matters of the heart (or matters of a little fun), but the one year following the release of Alone saw the emergence of a very different Bipasha. She was still her bubbly self when speaking to media, and did not dodge any questions when it came to her personal life, and more specifically, Karan. But she seemed to offer very little in the way of information, instead simply choosing to stick with denials of any romantic involvement, but always pointing how close she was to her Alone co-star.
In this time, she has complimented Karan’s simplicity, authenticity, sense of humour, and also said that “we get along like a house on fire,” but still, she never admitted to dating him. Karan, of course, was mum on the issue but repeatedly made it clear – on record – of how close the two were and how “fun” she was to hang around with.
However, there’s no smoke without fire, and while the media gets a sound bashing for inventing stories out of thin air (as they sometimes tend to do), this wasn’t a particularly hard one to call out. After all, the duo’s social media accounts (especially their Instagram) are filled with images of how much fun the duo are and were having in each other’s company – a testament to the fact that they seemed to spending a lot of time together as well.
What About The Parents?
While there was speculation that both sets of parents had their reservations about this Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover marriage, with Bipasha’s folks decidedly more hesitant (understandable, given KSG would be undertaking his third “til death do us part” vows), this is a part of the story that seems to be based much more on hearsay and no small amount of imagination, and we simply cannot verify if such a thing was indeed the case.
News Breaks – A Joint Statement
On April 7 of this very year, Joginder Tuteja took to Twitter to reveal a joint statement made by Bips and Karan speaking of how April 30 will be the big day. They thanked family, friends and well wishers before also explicitly stating that the wedding will be a “private affair” and that they are thankful for “having their privacy respected this far.”

For Bipasha, Harman Baweja, John Abraham (not to mention the much publicized split), and even Dino Morea seem to be things of the distant past and that’s not just in time. All evidence points to her being head over heels for her husband-to-be, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the feeling is very much returned.

Reports have stated that the wedding will be held at the St. Regis Hotel in Lower Parel in Mumbai, while the mehndi will be done at a popular lounge bar in Juhu.

Karan Surprises Bips By Crashing Her Hen’s Party!
Preparations are in full swing for the Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover marriage, and the latest is that a surprise bridal shower thrown for Bipasha by her close girlfriends was crashed by Karan who showed up with his troupe of boys taking his wife to be by surprise – a surprise that she adored going by the look she gave him.
Bipasha, who was wearing a sash that said “bride-to-be” was spotted having a blast at her bachelorette. Featured were lots of balloons, a number of adorable props and of course, a bevy of beaming women – until they were joined by the gatecrashing groom and his party, at which point the smiles just got bigger.

The Big Day Approaches
Reports have stated that the wedding will be held at the St. Regis Hotel in Lower Parel in Mumbai, while the mehendi will be done at a popular lounge bar in Juhu one day before the wedding, so on the 29th of April.
The mehndi ceremony we can confirm is going to be an all pink affair with the theme to be “Bollywood Life.” We wonder if the groom will gate crash the mehndi to get a closer look at his beautiful bride to be as she’s dressed in all pink?
