This was usually held separately by the bride and groom parties but is now being hosted together.

What to wear: Bright colors are the way to go. A gorgeous anarkali dress paired with simple accessories will do the trick. Accessorize with a large cocktail ring and a trendy matha patti.

Nikah

They say their ‘I Dos’ (Qubool Hai) in the presence of a Qazi.

What to wear: Bride’s usually opt for the traditional deep red bridal lehenga/Sharara (Panelled A-line skirt). The emerald gold jewellery and the Jhumar (the hair ornament worn on one side of the head) are the perfect bridal accessories to complete the look.

Walima

The first dinner reception that the couple throws as Mr & Mrs post the wedding.

What to wear: Brides usually go for pale colors. A farshi gharara/sharara is a good outfit choice. The soft colors are best paired with Diamond jewellery.

FYI: Farshi (floor-touching) Gharara is an elaborate version of the Gharara (a two-legged divided panel skirt).

BONUS: Our final outfit is in a color favored many brides; here is a dazzling pretty mint green outfit. The long-flowy kurta is ornate and has a different texture and a subtly different hue from the lehenga. The simplicity of the lehenga offsets the opulence of the kurta well.
