Black Hills Elopement

This year’s Sturgis Rally takes place August 8-14, 2016. As many as a half million folks are expected to show up for this year’s Rally, although – believe it or not – this is a decline in attendance from 2015 when approximately 750,000 people showed up! If you are planning to tie the knot with your favorite biker babe (or dude) this year in Sturgis, we compiled an interactive map of interesting settings to stage your Rally wedding. Take note: it is not recommended that you plan on getting married anywhere around downtown Sturgis, where there are masses of people jammed in together in a relatively small area for the better part of a week. Instead, get on your bikes and head towards the Black Hills National Forest or Custer State Park, where most of the outdoor wedding venues below are located. Then, after a romantic ceremony, you can celebrate your newlywed status with tens of thousands of your biker friends back in Sturgis!

Obviously, even if you don’t plan going near South Dakota during August, you can use the map below to plan your Black Hills elopement wedding no matter what time of year it is. In fact, if you’re not a motorcycle enthusiast…you might prefer to get married in the region during one of the other eleven months of the year. Either way, you’ll find no shortage of uncrowded Black Hills area spots where the two of you can say “I do”, whether you arrive at one of them via motorcycle or some other (probably much less exciting) mode of transport.

As you can see below, a visit to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August is not for those who have a fear of crowds…or fun…or, loud Harleys! Be prepared to party. Which is likely what you wanted to do anyway, after getting married during the Rally.
