Nottingham is one of the UKs most up and coming cities with
an ever growing nightlife, tonnes of restaurants and plenty of day time
activities to keep you and your hens entertained. Nottingham is the hometown of
Robin Hood, Boots and more recently
(well, over ten years ago!) the UKGirlThing offices. As my hometown I think I have it down when it
comes to places to visit, so here are some perfect places for your Nottingham
hen do.
Adventure – Deep in the heart of Sherwood Forest
lay adventure activities waiting to give you the thrill of your life. Go Ape is an exciting activity where you face daring
challenges such as swinging from trees on zip lines, crossing bridges that are
over 16 meters high and crawling through tunnels. This exhilarating activity is
guaranteed to give you and your hens the rush you’re looking for and get your
blood pumping ready for the night ahead!
Tranquillity – If you’re looking for a more
relaxed, therapeutic day out then visit Wollaton
Hall and Park. The huge grounds are beautifully laid out and there’s
plenty of room for a picnic and a game of rounders or cricket. If you fancy
learning a bit of history there’s also a Natural History Museum, Industrial
museum and yard gallery all on the same site.
Food – Nottingham isn’t short of delicious
places to eat (trust me, I’ve personally
tried and tested most of them) and in the City Centre alone you can enjoy
a huge range of cuisines.
- Thai – Tarn Thai located in
Hockley, you'll find authentic Thai food in a modern and sophisticated
atmosphere. Their lunch time deals are outstanding with an “express lunch”
offer and a “set meal” both of which are under £10. With a
certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor it’s not hard to see why Tarn Thai
is worth a visit.
- Indian – 4550 Miles from Delhi is a
beautiful Indian Restaurant on Maid Marion Way. From personal
experience I can tell you the curries are incredible, the service is impeccable
and the restaurant has an atmosphere where you just don’t want to leave. They
also offer 25% off your food bill if you dine before 6.30pm, although no matter
what time of day you simply need to visit this beautifully authentic Indian
restaurant.
- Italian – Wildwood is an
Italian Restaurant located on King Street, Nottingham. Offering a grill
selection, stone-baked pizzas and freshly prepared pasta its authentic Italian
food has become a hit with the locals. Wildwood also host private parties which
are perfect for a Nottingham hen do!
Drinks – Nottinghams nightlife grows by the day, with some of
the biggest clubs in the UK it’s not hard to see why it’s becoming a popular
location for hen and stag groups.
- Rock City – As one of
Nottingham’s largest live music venues it isn’t surprising that Rock City is a
good night out. On a Friday night Rock City offer their “Get Lucky” club night
where they play the best modern chart music as well as the old school club
classics. This lively club is always bouncing and you can get free entry before
11PM or pay £6 after that.
- Cucamara - Down a
small alleyway near the market square lays Cucamaras, a hard to find cocktail
bar known for it’s tequila shots and exotic cocktails. This small bar
also caters for hen groups – and imaginative fancy dress could even earn you a
free drink!
- CookieShot – During the
day you can visit cookie shake and try a variety of well-known chocolate bars
in the form of a milkshake. At night it becomes CookieShot, and they have an
impressive range of over 50 £1 shots including lemon cheesecake, cola millions,
killer chilli and skittles shots. Try a range of these unique shots or even
dare to try the ‘Miss Atomic Bomb’ including Amaretto, Jaeger & Cherry snaps
mixed with Redbull.
So there you have it, lots of perfect places worth a visit on
your Nottingham Hen do. For other great Nottingham
