We know it can be tempting and would appear to be the easiest option when you don’t know where you’re going. But you’re bound to get stuck in traffic or the driver may take advantage of you being tourists and take you the long route, therefore adding unnecessary expense to your London Hen Party Weekend. Get yourself a map of London and consider how long it would take you to walk to your destinations, you’d be surprised but London central is really not that big. Don’t let walking intimidate you, its most definitely the best way to explore London; no doubt you’ll suddenly turn a corner and find yourself in Piccadilly Circus or Trafalgar Square. Far more exciting than catching a taxi.
If walking to your destination will take too long, both the tube and buses are so easy once you give it a go. The tube and red double decker buses are so quick and easy to use; you haven’t experienced London unless you have a go. When you buy your train ticket, the likeliness is you can buy yourself a travel day pass at the same time at £7.30 per person; you can use this all day, both on the tube and buses within zones 1 & 2. Plus buying in advance will save you the trouble of queuing up and having to fight the crowds. Don’t worry if you miss your tube or bus, they run very regularly so the next one is bound to turn up a couple of minutes later. If you ever get lost or are unsure of the best route to take ask the bus driver or the staff at the customer service desks in the tube stations. They are used to tourists asking questions and will be able to point you in the right direction.
If you desperately need a Taxi
Get your hotel to book you one, you never know they may get special discount rates for guests. Just remember it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be cheaper or quicker.
