Photographer’s Remarks
“Blue and green, there’s something calming and serene about those two colors and it’s the backbone to our styled shoot. When Dessa Event Planning and I came up with the concept of our spring styled shoot we wanted to create a look where minimal natural foliage met the soft hues of grey and dusty blue.”
The Venue
“The shoot was held at an airy loft in the city of Batavia just 45 minutes north of Downtown Chicago. The natural wooden floors and large windows gave us a great blank canvas to work with.”
The Decor
“A delicate handmade foliage garland with Italian Ruscus, Seeded Eucalyptus, Lemon Leaf, and blush garden roses graced the center of the table. The cake was another highlight of the shoot hand painted by Sweet Temptations Bakery to replicate marble.”
The Fashion
“The bride wore two dresses: first, a flowy semi-sheer white dress accentuated with a high slit. For the second dress we really wanted a gown that was unique, but still bridal. More often now than ever we see brides opting for a non-traditional dress whether it be a different color or unique texture. The second gown supplied by The Frock Shop was the perfect shade of dusty blue with a see-through beaded corset bodice. This gown was originally intended for a prom type event, but accessorizing it with a matching veil makes this look delicate and remarkable.”
“All the vendors that participated in this shoot really understood the concept we were going for and helped create an inspiration for brides searching for a soft and natural look.”
