Bryan and Chrissy’s Story
Chrissy and Bryan met via Bryan’s little sister, Kristen, who also happens to be best friends with Chrissy. Bryan came into the picture in 2007, though the two did not start dating until winter of 2009.
“There were many moments when I knew he was The One,” recalled Chrissy.
One such moment was when Chrissy’s father checked himself into the hospital for detox. When she and Bryan visited him, the hospital informed Chrissy her father would have to complete an inpatient rehab, which he would only be allowed to partake in if he had a home to be discharged to once he completed the program. Chrissy’s father was currently living on the street, which would’ve deemed him ineligible for the program — until Bryan stepped in and insisted that he stay with the couple.
“At this point, we’ve been dating for about five years and Bryan has never even met my father, only heard stories,” Chrissy explained. “I was so touched by his sincere act of selflessness and kindness.”
After seven years of being together, Bryan finally popped the question.
“Bryan arranged for all my friends and family to meet at the Davis Island Dog Beach and for Cooper, my dog, to bring me the ring,” Chrissy exclaimed.
The ring was placed in a phone case around Cooper’s collar and when she removed it, Bryan got down on one knee in front of everyone there.
“From what I heard afterwards from all my friends, this took a lot of planning and collaboration among my friends and family, but honestly I had no idea!”
As for the ring, the two unintentionally went ring shopping together! The couple was shopping for jewelry for the groom’s mom, and they stumbled upon the engagement ring section. Chrissy took the opportunity to point out some of her favorites, which Bryan took into account and eventually, added his own flair to make the perfect ring!
