Grooms- Here Are Your Must Have Accesories!

Weddings are joyous occasions. Yes, I am once again starting my post with the same old punch line. But, I can't help it. I love weddings and I just can't get enough of it.

There are thousands and thousands of wedding websites on the internet. They share so many detailed and wonderful information to help you plan your perfect wedding. From makeup to dresses to shoes to themes to flowers, these websites are every bride's dream. But some of these websites miss out the important person in a wedding; the groom.

On my website too, I've hardly written any article to help the groom. Many of my male friends have complained about it. I would like to apologize to all the men. This International Men's Day, I have carved a special post only for the Grooms.

Let's start it:

There is a myth that grooms don't need to accessorize as much as the bride. All they have to do is have a bath, spray some deo, put on their finest suit, tie the shoelace and go off to see your bride and get married.

Nah! Grooms are equally special and need to accessorize just as much as the brides. Let's start with the basics.

1. Watch

Nothing can complement a man’s attire like a watch does. Keep your normal daily wear watch aside and pick up something classy that complements your suit. Don't go for a digital watch or smart watches. Weddings are not the time to flaunt them. Instead, go for analog watches. It's okay if big brands aren't within your budget. But don't skip wearing a watch.

2. Cufflinks

The most recognizable role for cufflinks is as the formal and semi-formal alternative to buttons. They’re a brilliant way to dress up and complete your wedding look. Cufflinks may be a little tough to put on but they really make you stand out. Go for some funky and cool cufflinks for your wedding.

3. Bowtie / Ties

This is yet another thing that should be on your must-have list. If your wedding is quite formal and simple, you can pick a tie of your choice. If you have a little country style wedding, go for a bow tie. Grooms usually wear black color ties, and, the groomsmen wear the theme colored ties. But if you wish ( and if the bride allows) you can go for the theme color tie too.

4. Pocket Square

The pocket square is one of the easiest and most stylish ways a man can accessorize. Not only does it make you look elegant and sophisticated.

5. Boutonnière

This is a floral decoration worn by men, typically a single flower or bud. Curiously enough, the boutonniere and the bridal bouquet were created for similar reasons: to ward off bad smells, disease, and evil spirits.

6. Belt

Grooms can also go for designer belts. Black belts with designer belt buckles are the new go thing. You can choose a belt buckle according to the theme of your wedding. For e.g. If your theme is Star Wars, go for a Darth Vader belt buckle.

7. Wallet

Keep your filled wallet with you. Make sure you have enough cash for emergencies. Wallet is one of the most important accessories that grooms usually forget to carry.

8. Sunglasses

Not a compulsion, but wearing sunglasses can help you snap some pretty good photos.

9. Hat

If your theme is something country like, go for a hat. Grooms wearing a hat look really cool. But again, not a compulsion.

10. Suspenders

Suspenders can be very useful if you decide to get rid of your suit/ blazer. If you are getting married during the summer season, suits can be very uncomfortable. Go for suspenders.

11. Handkerchief

Weddings are a time to cry. And when you see her walking down the aisle, you realize within that your whole life is just about to change and you are going to live the rest of your life with the women you love. For sure, there will be some tears rolling down those cheeks, so keep a handkerchief in your pocket.
