  • VILLA PIZZO

Villa Pizzo is a historic residence on Lake Como. The last of the Muggiasca family to live in the property was John Baptist, then Bishop of Como, to whom we owe much of the neoclassical furnishings. It was bought by a certain engineer Bonzarini for 250,000 lire on behalf of Viceroy Ranieri of Hasburg, who made it the residence of his wife Maria Elisabetta Savoia of Carignano and himself for a time, dedicating himself to the beautification of the park with passion. In 1865, the Villa was bought by Madame Mousard, the eccentric queen of Parisian parties, referred to by many as the favorite of King William of Holland, who probably made her a gift. In 1871, Madame Mousard was forced to leave the house, which was taken over by the Milanese family Volpi Bassani. This beautiful villa on the shores of Lake Como has a special touch of neoclassical style thanks to the furniture that can be found inside.
