Amie Bone’s Next Chapter – a Floral Celebration at The Bulgari London.
“She sold bananas, and he sold flowers” – a tale as old as time, the beginning of Amie Bone’s a love story with her husband Jason and the birth of their flower company, Amie Bone Flowers.
And it was this journey that we were invited to celebrate at the Bulgari Hotel in London. We’ve known Amie for a long time, since 5 Star Wedding Directory’s beginning, and we were so excited to witness the beginning of her next chapter. A glittering gold envelope held the details of the celebration, asking guests to include a little leopard print in their attire. Of course, we obliged, and as we arrived, it was easy to spot other guests with flashes of feline amongst the exquisite outfits.
It was such a delight to be back at the Bulgari, having visited only recently, and we took the swift lift up to the party, where we were greeted by a beautiful floral arch and an elegantly dressed hostess. She guided us through to another room where a market stall had been set up, symbolic of Amie and Jason’s meeting at their own market stalls many years before. With such precise attention to detail, it was simply gorgeous, and we were transported to 1999, when the couple met.
After a glass of champagne, we found our way to the escort table, stunningly decorated with
black and gold paper with more leopard print accents. We discovered our personalised journals on a bookshelf – books with our names printed on the spine and serving as the evening’s menu. A gorgeous memento to take home and write our next chapters.
We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with so many wedding industry friends, from Cranberry Blue to Bruce Russell. It was an absolute joy to chat with all the industry greats. We caught a little conversation with Amie herself as we entered the dining room together which was just breathtaking. Contortionists in leopard print twisted themselves into incredible shapes, and an elegant drag queen hosted the decadent party. Amie’s cake cleverly incorporated elements of her life, featuring a beloved bulldog and a flower stall, amongst other motifs symbolising her journey.
Flowers were, of course, stunning, with bright pink, yellow and orange centrepieces running down the tables and overflowing to the floor in a cloud of stunning scent. Matching candles, black crockery and golden cutlery created the most beautiful tables.
There was just so much to take in, with an orchestra to welcome us dancers and character performers throughout the night. It was a fully immersive experience with all the senses coming to life in true Amie Bone style. Amie certainly knows how to put on a show!
The menu had to be fish and chips, but make it fancy! And we then heard a heartfelt speech from Amie, looking forward to her next chapter. Desserts were served from a table, groaning under all the delicious sweet treats before more entertainment and dancing. And then, like Cinderella escaping from the most magical ball, I had to leave to catch the last train home.
