1.36 lakhs Jobs Added in 8 sectors in July-Sep FY2017-18

Jobs in eight sectors, including Transport, IT and manufacturing, ascended by 1.36 lakh on net premise in July-September this financial year compared to the past quarter, says a survey. 
Construction sector was the only segment that announced job losses of 22,000 in the second quarter of FY2017-18. 
"Estimates from Quarterly Employment Survey uncover that there was a overall positive change in 1.36 lakh laborers (in July-September) over the past quarter (April-June), crosswise across eight sectors at all India level," the Quarterly Employment Survey by the Labor Bureau for July-September expressed. 
The Labor Bureau, a wing of Labor Ministry, expressed that there were positive changes in seven out of eight sectors. 

Manufacturing division added 89,000 occupations, Education sector included 21,000 employments while transport sector saw expansion of 20,000 employments. Trade (14,000), Health Sector(11,000), Restaurant and Lodging (2,000) and IT/BPO segment (1,000) also announced employment addition. 

Negative change was in just construction Sector (- 22000). 


"Within Construction, this negative change is attributed to construction of buildings and building completion and finishing. This might be because of seasonal activites and also celebrations," the survey said. 
As indicated by the survey, out of the aggregate evaluated change in work of 1.36 lakh, female workers accounted 74,000 and male workers for a change of 62,000. 
Self- employed experienced a positive change of 4,000 and employees experienced a positive change of 1.32 lakh.
