Love At Last – An Elegant Celebration At The Lakeview Pavilion

Now this is a classic friends-to-lovers story! Cake & Lace learned today that timing may not be everything, but its importance cannot be stressed enough. We wouldn’t want to spoil anything, so we’ll just end this intro with a kiss:

From the couple:

“For years my best friend would tell me about how her cousin, Joe, would always tease her. I eventually met him during my senior year of college and thought to myself, “he doesn’t seem all that mean to me!” While I was at one of their family events, Joe asked me to grab a drink afterwards. I didn’t think anything of it and agreed, only to find myself being driven in to the North End for this drink. We had immediate chemistry, and Joe later admitted to me that he was so nervous being around me that on our way back to his car he had forgotten where he had parked! This resulted in us walking through the North End for awhile hunting for his car. While I had such a great time with him that night, I wasn’t comfortable dating my best friend’s cousin, and let him know that we should pursue more of a friendship than a romantic relationship. For over 6 years, we found ourselves getting together very frequently, and every now and then Joe would express wanting more than a friendship between the two of us. Unfortunately, this was not something that I was ready for at that time and we took a break from our friendship. During that time, I began to really miss Joe and the chemistry that we shared. I knew that I had been wrong to not allow us the opportunity to test the waters romantically. When I asked him to meet me, I was so thankful that he was willing. I shared with him how I felt, that I had missed him incredibly, and planted a kiss right on him. He was completely shocked and asked, “Is this really happening?” Ever since that night, everything has been even better than I could have imagined between us.

One evening, Joe asked if I’d like to have dinner in the North End. We parked our car and were walking along the streets of the North End on the way to the restaurant. On our walk, Joe began reminiscing about that first date that we had, and how far we’ve come since that time. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

When beginning the Wedding planning process, the Lakeview Pavilion venue was the first decision that we made. As soon as I walked into the venue I knew that this was where I wanted to have our wedding. I was drawn to the high ceilings, the lighting, the white walls, and how clean everything looked. They truly went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process, and especially on the day of the wedding. Our photographers were our first vendors to be chosen. When researching photographers, I was immediately drawn to Hancer’s style of photography, as well as the fact that they are a husband and wife team. They were incredible to work with, making us feel so comfortable during all of the photos. We were thrilled with how the photographs looked, and were so happy that they were able to catch so many special moments throughout the evening. I was very excited to have rich red tones in my bouquet and to have tall centerpieces with branches. When I met with Diane from The Floral Place, she took so much time with me to help me to envision what I was seeking. Not only were her designs gorgeous in person, but she was so warm and easy to work with throughout the process. For music, we were drawn to First Class Weddings, as that is the only type of event that they will provide their service for. When speaking with the owner, Josh Wiseman, he was able to match us with a DJ who fit exactly what we were looking for, and set us up with Mark MacTaggert. Mark was able to play the music that we were looking for, and our guests were on the dance floor all night long! We received so many compliments on the music that he played to keep the energy up.”
