Great Gatsby Styled Shoot

from the planner and stylist… “Oh the elegance, the glitz, the glamor and the intricate detail of the 1920’s Art Deco and the fabulous portrayal of it in Baz Luhrmann’s reinterpretation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. And what a fitting theme for one of the best celebrations of a lifetime – a wedding! For this reason Brilliant Event Design and Amore Wedding Photography teamed up to design and create a Great Gatsby inspired photo shoot.”

“Capturing the glamor, the opulence and decadence of the 1920’s era in an elegant way was an important part of the design of the ceremony and reception areas. Like Art Deco, the overall structure of the design is more masculine with soft feminine overtones and extreme attention to detail. The color scheme is more neutral with an emphasis on metallic – mixing metals, lots of gold and silver, pewter and onyx with loads of sparkle – mirrored mercury, beading, glass and crystal. This is all juxtaposed with luxurious fabrics and stunning flowers so that the various rich textures are the defining elements with color taking a more supplemental role. Some of Southern California’s most sought after vendors were involved and did an amazing job.”
