The Oscar nominations for 2023 are on the horizon. Which films are going to be lauded with the most nominations? Which are going to fall to the wayside, snubbed? This year's line-up already has a few favourites with All Quiet on the Western Front echoing 1917's Oscar run in 2020, The Banshees of Inisherin retooling the In Bruges duo of Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri director Martin McDonagh, Elvis giving another music biopic a fighting chance in the wake of Bohemian Rhapsody, Top Gun: Maverick reinvigorating blockbusters, sequels and the cinema experience and The Fabelmans gearing up to land Steven Spielberg more trophies for the mantelpiece after what's been a rather quiet two decades following Saving Private Ryan. It's great to see the wildly ambitious and almost overwhelming Everything, Everywhere All at Once still doing the seemingly impossible with Michelle Yeoh who was a bit unlucky not to get the nod for her supporting role in Crazy Rich Asians.
