Looking for fantastic Wine events in Philly? Our city is steeped in history, culture, and wine! Did you know some of the earlier vineyards in the American colonies were planted here? With a rich wine culture and many top-notch wine-related activities, it’s no surprise that the city has become a hub for wine lovers and enthusiasts. Here are some of the best wine-related activities in Philadelphia.

Top Five Wine Events!

Visit the Wine School of Philadelphia

  1. How about some blatant self-promotion? However, the Wine School of Philadelphia is the largest and most successful wine school in the United States. Since 2001, generations of successful winemakers, sommeliers, and wine professionals have studied in our classrooms.

We offer a wide range of wine courses, from beginner to advanced, to help students develop the skills and knowledge needed to work in the wine trade. In addition to traditional in-person classes, we also offer online wine courses and virtual tastings, making it easier for wine lovers to learn about their favorite beverage from anywhere in the world.

Explore the city’s wine bars.

  1. Philadelphia is home to some of the best wine bars in the country, offering a wide selection of domestic and international wines.  From cozy and intimate spots to large and bustling venues, there’s a wine bar for every taste and preference. Philly’s wine bars are at their best when serving crazy wines from unusual places.  The city’s top wine bars include Tria, Jet, and Vintage, each offering an extensive wine list, knowledgeable staff, and an atmosphere perfect for relaxing and sipping a glass of wine.

Take a winery tour

  1. If you want to explore the city’s wine culture in depth, why not take a winery tour? Mural City Cellars, Gritty City Winery, and the ubiquitous event space/winery City Winery. Knowledgeable guides –frequently the winemaker– lead these tours. You’ll have the opportunity to taste a wide range of wines and learn about the city’s wine history. You would have to travel outside the city limits for more wineries, but some great wineries are nearby.

Attend a wine-tasting event.

  1. Philadelphia hosts many wine-tasting events throughout the year, allowing wine lovers to sample various wines in a social setting. Whether you’re looking for a large, festive wine festival (yuck!) or a more intimate wine-tasting event, there’s something for everyone. Some of the city’s top wine-tasting events include the Philly Wine Fest (formerly Philly Wine Week) and the Philly Wine Fest. You can also book a private wine event.

Picnic at The Reading Terminal Market.

  1. This is a ritual for all visitors to Philly! The Reading Terminal Market is a must-visit for anyone who loves food and drink. Located in Center City, this indoor market is home to over 80 vendors, offering everything from fresh produce to gourmet cheeses and specialty meats. The market is also home to Pennsylvania Libations, which offers a wide selection of Pennsylvania wineries and distilleries.
