Advanced Sommelier Certification
To earn this qualification, a student must successfully complete four advanced-level courses. The school has expanded its course offerings to include the following:
- Italian Wine Specialist
- American Wine Specialist
- Spanish Wine Specialist
- French Wine Specialist
- Food & Wine Scholar
- Master in Wine Certification
- Wine Instructor Certification
- Advanced Winemaker Certification
- Specialist in Spirits, East Coast Wine Scholar (at-home)
- Advanced Beer Brewing Certification
- Scholar in Mediterranean Wine
- and German Wine Specialist
What’s changed: the requirement for a referral from your professor has been removed: Once you have successfully completed four advanced courses, you can apply for your Advanced Pin (see below for link). Finally, grading and shipment of certificates for Advanced courses are now handled from June to July.
Master In Wine Certification
We are proud to announce the next level of wine certification has arrived. The Wine School of Philadelphia is now offering the highest level of wine certification. The National Wine School underwrites this master program.
For this certification, the candidate must complete the following programs:
- Italian Wine Specialist
- American Wine Specialist
- Spanish Wine Specialist
- French Wine Specialist
- Food & Wine Scholar
- Master in Wine Certification
- Wine Instructor Certification
- Advanced Winemaker Certification
The candidate also must complete two of the following elective courses:
- Specialist in Spirits
- East Coast Wine Scholar (at-home)
- Advanced Beer Brewing Certification
- Scholar in Mediterranean Wine
- German Wine Specialist.
We must stress that we are not affiliated with the Court of Master Sommeliers. We do not support the court for many reasons, including the disturbing and credible reports leveled against them. Therefore, we do not offer their Master Sommelier qualification.
