I’ve had that line stuck in my head for several days. Too much Lacuna Coil lately. :)

We’ve headed into our busy season at work, so every morning I get up, grab a cuppa and throw on some low music to serve as background noise and hit the ground running. We’ve got so many projects going on and I’m told to expect to stay slammed until after the new year. Wheeeee! Being busy is nothing new to me, so at least this is finally starting to feel familiar. LOL

We’re coming up on my favorite holiday, and after spending a week doing heavy duty “get rid of all my shit” cleaning, I’ve been slowly acquiring new darker-themed items here and there. I bought some new toys for the cats, all Halloween-themed of course! ;) Right now the kiddo’s old bedroom is my temporary storage, so the cats have been sniffing around all the boxes and make sure to “help” (by getting into my way as much as possible) as I unpack things little by little. Most everything I’ve thrown out or donated to charity. I’m trying to de-clutter as much as possible. I know it’ll be a while before I can look at buying a new house, but for now I’m making mine more comfortable. I had to have some of the carpet ripped out in a few places, and am currently saving up to have hardwoods put in. I’m still unable to get my porch re-done because of the price of wood, but at least for now it’s fixed enough so that I won’t trip going up/down them going in and out of the house.

My Plex Server is down again. I was telling a friend that I don’t think it’s the software, I think it’s my android device. The ShieldTV makes a great streaming device, and maybe gaming too? (I haven’t tried that) But it’s a horrible Plex server host. My databases corrupted again, and this time the backups were also corrupted. I’ve not lost any media because that’s all on my external drive, but I’ve gone through 3 thumb drives now. If/When I replace my laptop, the old one will be my new Plex server. Either I’ll run it in Windows or just wipe and load Linux on there and run it in that. While this has been a great learning experience, I’ve come to despise AndroidTV devices. And I’ll be honest, nVidia’s (lack of) customer service is not helping! So during my lunch break today, I wiped the ShieldTV and set it up from scratch because I was having issues reinstalling the Plex Media Server software (again). All of my media is being re-imported into my library, so I’ll be able to watch stuff on it tomorrow.

And again, the most aggravating part is losing my playlists. Because for whatever reason, Plex STILL has not made a way to import/export those damned things. And while I’m at it, how about giving us a way to import/export settings? Or the library database?

That’d be WAY too helpful, I guess …

But I digress. What else? Oh, my singing lessons are on hold. The person that I was having them from has temporarily stopped teaching … for how long I dunno. I haven’t been keeping up with my Spanish lessons as I should, but at least I’m getting a little practice at work, so that helps. I’m also looking at maybe taking a couple of classes on the weekends, so we’ll see. I’ve been splitting the rest of my down time playing Guild Wars 2 and Aion Classic. The Halloween event has just started in GW2 so of course I’ll be doing that! And Aion Classic will be getting the 1.5 patch soon, so I’ll be able to pvp more with my legion in there. :3

I’ve been having a LOT of issues getting my medications refilled from my new insurance company. So right now that’s probably my biggest stressor. And because my migraines have kicked into overdrive, all of this is not helping. I’ve complained to our benefits department and they put me in touch with a “go between” who is supposed to contact me and help smooth things over and help me get my meds. I’m not holding my breath. Cigna has been kinda helpful, but their mailing service, Express Scripts, has not been. And I’m ready to fire them both.

So I’m staying busy, lots to do. In fact, I’m working on a couple of certifications for work. I am going to have to block out some time on my calendar to get those done, but it will be great to finally have those out of the way! :)
