I had a fantastic opportunity literally fall in my lap a few weeks ago, and in the span of one week I had three video calls and a job offer. This hit me hard and fast, and I honestly could not have planned this any better myself. Remote job with a pay raise and better benefits, working with cutting edge technology. On top of that, everyone I’ve met so far has been great!

June 11th was officially my last day with IBML. I will miss my users and my team mates very much. I have learned a lot over the last 8 years and met so many Incredible people. Several have reached out to me with kind comments and well wishes; it’s truly humbling. ♥

“Onwards and upwards,” as a friend of mine recently said to me.

I’ve spent my downtime working on my Spanish lessons, ripping DVDs to add to Plex, and piddling around with a Couple of side projects. I’m hoping to start my singing lessons back up soon as well! I was suckered into playing some Aion Classic, so there’s that in addition to my Guild Wars 2 playtime. I’ve participated in a couple Pride events and seen a few loved ones.

Last Monday, a week ago today, was my first day at Weld North Education as a Senior Systems Administrator. My new team has been absolutely incredible, and my new boss is the coolest dude. I’m over the moon happy right now!

I’m gaining exposure to all kinds of new technologies, as well as working with several familiar ones (no Lotus/Domino). I’ll even be flying into the head office soon to meet folks in person, and despite my near-crippling fear of flying, I’m actually looking forward to it! (of course I may feel differently when it comes time to board the planes!)

Y’all, I can barely express how elated I feel right now. I feel as though a mountain’s worth of weight has been lifted from my chest and shoulders. I can’t wait to login to work every morning. It feels nice. :)
