Diary of a change

« Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. »
– Barack Obama’s Feb. 5 [2008] Speech

Have you ever felt stuck in such a narrow place, lacking space and air, although everything in your life seems alright?

Have you ever felt helpless about getting better, and thought about giving up on yourself, your happiness, because all that you tried to do about it never worked?

Have you ever felt stuck in your own mind, in your own life, and totally unable to get out of it?

If you did, then this may be the time where you need to stand up for yourself and change!

I call it the « diving suit » effect. When the world all around you is so spacious and full of possibilities yet you feel suffocating, pressured and hopeless.

One day, I reached that place in my life where I had no excuse to be unhappy, yet I was.
I had a caring family, amazing friends, talents recognized and prized by all, I went abroad to study as I always wanted to, I had a kind and loving boyfriend, a job in one of the best organisations in the world  … but I was miserable as hell.
I was getting more and more uncomfortable and insecure around people, even though I master the art of hiding it. I was unhappy with my love life and went from self sabotage to self sabotage. I started to isolate myself and avoid people’s company…etc.

Changing places didn’t work, neither did changing looks, clothing style, going through endless diets or starting new hobbies.

It took me a while (and a great friend) to understand that the real problem was not external. The real issue, was inside me. I had to do some serious inner change.

I wont lie to you, facing  yourself is one of the hardest things one can do. Let alone doing through deep inner change.

It’s been two years now since I started that process. And I am pretty happy and proud of the walk I walked. It was hard, and it still is, because there is nothing more painful and hard than digging inside your psychology, emotions and mind. You may get surprised, get angry, be disappointed, go through denial… but at the end of the day, you will know deep inside that it is the right thing to do. It is the only way to a real and deep evolution to a better and happier life, and trust me: the result worth it all!

I learned so much in that Journey to my true self. I learned things about me, about the world, about life. I have been able to change some things I’ve been struggling with all   my life. I became more true to myself and to other people. I started to detect fakeness easily and became allergic to it.

So I decided to create this space (diary of a change) to share this peace of experience that I have with you. It may help you in your own journey. If not, at least you will know that you are not alone.

I will try to post an article a week with advises, tips, stories, mistakes to avoid, mistakes to do, books that you may read.
But it’s very important to keep in mind that there is no recipe for this.
Your journey will be unique, like no other, and you will probably have to deal with very specific struggle that you and only you will be able to understand and solve.

All that you can find here, is inspiration and support. Then you will have to make your own masterpiece.

Don’t hesitate to share your own experience with us, suggest subjects or ask questions.

Have a great inner change journey and don’t forget to enjoy the ride, it’s a great one!

« When your inner world comes into order, your outer world will come into order »
