How To Restore The Moisture Content Of Your Face

Keeping your Skin hydrated can help you to avoid early aging, wrinkles, and several skin problems. Massaging your face with a moisturizing cream once or twice a day is just not enough if your skin is too thirsty. There are a lot of remedies and tips to reintroduce and lock moisture in your face and maintain its beauty. Keep reading.

Drink enough water

This is the most obvious but still the most ignored remedy for hydrated skin. Skin is an organ made up of cells and tissues. And these skin cells, like any other cells of the body, are made up of water. Therefore, the lack of moisture in these cells affects their functioning and makes the skin appear dry, dull, and flaky. You can also use water-based skin products to make moisture reach those cells quickly.

Moisturize damp skin

The best method to apply moisturizer is just after the shower when the skin is damp. Massaging moisturizer on wet skin in upward and circular motions helps to lock the hydration for a very long time.

Choose the right products

As mentioned above, the moisturizer is not always enough. If you have super-dry skin, or if you wish to achieve that glowy finish on your face, you must go for hydrating serums. Such serums not only lock moisture in your skin cells but also make your skin appear more plump and shiny. Also, you have to choose products that are gentle on your skin. Make sure that they are free of any intoxicants, alcohol, retinol, or artificial fragrance.

Avoid hot showers

Hot and steamy showers are indeed very relaxing, but prolonged contact with heat can strip your skin off all the moisture, leaving your skin looking dry and dull. Instead, you can wash your face with lukewarm water and apply moisturizer when the skin is still wet.

Try face masks

Face masks are the easiest and the quickest way to hydrate your skin. They not only help you with prolonged and deep hydration but also provide several other benefits for clean, bright and healthy skin. You can choose among the different varieties like coffee, coconut, papaya, apricot, etc. that are available in the market.

DIY face packs

This is probably the most interesting and exciting method to rehydrate your skin. All you have to do is to take a trip to your kitchen and find some good moisturizing ingredients like honey, papaya, banana, yogurt, rosewater, gram flour, aloe vera, milk cream, etc. Just mix any two of these, apply on your face and relax for 15-20 minutes. Now just wash off and feel the magical results.

Wear sunscreen

The ultraviolet rays from the sun can be really harsh on your skin and steal all your moisture by weakening your skin barrier. Sunscreen is essential to protect sensitive or dry skin against these evil rays. Therefore, don’t just save those sunscreen bottles for beach days, but make it a daily practice to wear it on your moisturizer, even when you are indoors.
