If I Had One Wish (in this Contemporary Babylon) – A Poem

Tags: character

If I had one wish it would be that this meaningless theatrical play would come to an abrupt end

That this irreverent stage production which seems to bore on through reality relentlessly consuming hope, dreams and peace would abruptly cease!

For far too long has it corrupted senses, sensibility and our souls only to give birth to narcissistic tyrants and would-be slave masters serving only selfishness and vanity with desire to conquer both ocular heaven and earth

If this be the singular purpose of creator, then will me out of this purposeless existence!

No more would I wish to participate in the illusion with the curse of clarity bestowed upon me

To see all form and function of both thespian and props clearly without the condolence of the accursed rose spectacle

I beseech you! Remove me from the cohabitation of sheep, wolf and manipulative herder and terminate my performance in this Shakespearean tragedy of epic proportions with seemingly no conclusion

bearing innumerable, capricious characters without Character flawed beyond measure capturing the entire ensemble in their catastrophic and ruthless orbital planes

For mercy’s cause, bring to an end this fabrication or release me from its odious grasp!

Súscipe me secúndum mutare hanc rem
