This World We Knew (a poem of remembrance)

Bountiful and lush, an array of colours to delight the senses

Beast of every kind by sea, land and air inhabits every corner

awe-inspiring and precious they serve heavenly purpose

One given dominion over the rest – filled with intelligence, flaw and wonder

but is the most dangerous that decimates terra-firma to its foundations

Now nurturing Mother of hue grows angry and weary

With companion orb in tow, she sheds Herself of the mongrel waste and begins a journey anew
