In the Midst of Great Evil, Great Good Emerges Victorious

In her autobiography, The Woman I Wanted to Be, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg tells a touching tale. She relates how her mother, Lily, survived the Holocaust in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp and, instead of becoming embittered and seeing evil everywhere ever after, she only saw Good everywhere ever after.

When I read those words, they resonated with me. I relate profoundly not only because I've used the screenname "Lily" for years but because I share Lily's philosophy.

What Do You See?

In 1995, while my family was suddenly suffering massive and to-this-day inexplicable upheaval, my father became convinced that I was obsessed with demons. Perhaps needing a scapegoat at the moment, he devised a treatment to break me of my supposed obsession by forcing me to look at graphic photos of...what else?...the Holocaust. He reasoned (?) that forcing me to observe Evil would cure me of Evil.

Instead, like Diane von Furstenberg's mother, I came away from the "treatment" not with an impression of Evil but with awe for the strength and resilience of the Jewish people and the ultimate triumph of Good (the Allies) over Evil (the Nazis) in Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, Scheveningen, etc.

Yes, there was horrific Evil and millions of deaths but somehow in the midst of that evil, great goodness bubbled to the surface. I was in awe of the strength of Jews who went knowingly to their deaths not screaming nor panicking but rather singing Kaddish for themselves and each other.

I was blown away by the kindness of prisoners to each other. The bizarre looking-the-other-way of some of the guards. The miracles. The unfathomable paperwork errors and inexplicable releases of prisoners like Corrie ten Boom. The subtle resistance work of Concentration Camp inmates who purposely assembled radios incorrectly so Nazi pilots would lose communication. The list goes on and on.

Today, humanity finds themselves on the cusp (or in the midst!) of yet another Holocaust. A much more genteel, finessed, high tech Holocaust of flawed tests and fake statistics, of pointless lockdowns and invasive police, of viruses and injections posing as vaccines, of bankruptcies and court cases, of vaccine passports and fabric symbols of compliance (masks).

This is great Evil.

But just as in the 1940s Holocaust, in the midst of great Evil, great Good can, has, is and will emerge. It must. That's how the world was designed to work.

I See Good

In January of 2020, we heard rumors of a mysterious illness in Wuhan, China.

In February, we grew concerned.

In March, it was upon us.

Yes, we were naive. We were lied to. We didn't know what to believe. We feared for ourselves and our families for the best possible reasons: we loved life and we loved each other.

Yes, there were instances of people behaving badly, of hoarding and price gouging. Of doctors knowingly turning up the ventilators so high, they ruined their patients' lungs. Of Italian grandparents left to die in hospital corridors and New York grandparents purposely infected. Of the USS Mercy and the USS Comfort as well as Samaritan's Purse sent packing.

But when push-came-to-shove, Good came to the fore in the hearts of the Little People around the world. Have we forgotten?

I remember one lady who posted on Facebook that she wanted to spend her time in isolation painting but needed rubbing alcohol for her paints. Her neighbors, who could've used that alcohol to disinfect surfaces for fear of the virus, donated instantly so she could be happy and busy painting.

Just a little thing but it meant the world to her and impressed me immensely.

Everyone gave as he was able. Celebrities gave what they had to give...selfies in ever-shrinking bikinis. (We could've lived without that.)

The stars of the Metropolitan Opera sang for the online Gala from their homes around the world. I'll never forget Welsh bass-baritone, Bryn Terfel, warbling, "If I can help somebody, as I travel along, If I can help somebody, with a word or song, If I can help somebody, from doing wrong, No, my living shall not be in vain." And behind him in his living room was the same pump organ I have in my living room. You could've knocked me over with the proverbial feather!

On Easter Sunday 2020, Andrea Bocelli gave what he had to give for free: his voice. Alone in the Duomo di Milano Cathedral (with an organist), Andrea live streamed a concert of Hope for the world and then walked outside and sang the most well-known and beloved hymn ever written by a slave trader: Amazing Grace.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil
A life of joy and peace.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Was blind, but now I see
.

It was beyond beautiful. From Andrea, many others took up the torch, going out on their balconies to sing and play instruments to cheer their neighbors. We didn't know then that there were treatments for C-19 that worked, that masks make it worse, that lockdowns are unnecessary and have nothing to do with concern for our health.

We didn't know then it had all been planned and war gamed years, maybe decades, before by the Deep State and financed by those who feign being the most concerned. We coped the best we could at the time with what we knew...and we didn't know much.

But the Deep State was wrong. They failed to learn from their own history, they ignored the lessons of the 1940s Holocaust, so I believe they are doomed to repeat them and fail again with their new 2020/2021 Holocaust.("These people are stupid." - Q)

Where there is Great Evil, Great Good always emerges victorious.

Their mistake is under-estimating the number of good people in this world. People rising up en masse in huge crowds in Italy, France, Germany, India, America demanding a return to the good ol' Normal of 2019. (But the MSM won't tell you about any of that!)

C-19 has brought out the best in the good hearts of good people worldwide and...surprise, surprise, surprise...has been the most brilliant Red Pill, better than any President Trump and the White Hats could've designed.

All that to say that, even though the headlines grow more sinister, more bizarre, more worrisome and more batshit crazy every day, always remember that in the midst of Great Evil...Great Good is happening too. It must. Good always burbles to the surface and defeats Evil. Over and over and over again. That's just how things work.

Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Have a good week, Patriots!
