Let’s Go Crazy by Prince has been one of my go-to jams these days. It’s kept me moving when most days I want to crawl under the sheets and never get out. I’ve been in such a state of confusion and depression that I honestly could not write these past few weeks.

These days, I am overwhelmed by a crushing sense of defeat. Unexpectedly, from seemingly nowhere, my project has been scrapped. This is not that unusual for Project Managers but the project that I was working on was so important that I was foolishly lured into a false sense of job security. So much so, that I pretty much abandoned my start-up and most of my other freelance ventures. Big mistake. Now here I am unemployed and struggling – once again.

I thought things would be getting easier not harder as I grew older. Now the old dark whispers are back. Am I simply unlucky or simply cursed? I feel cursed. I think of myself as intelligent but what has it gotten me – why am I penniless? Well, too many reasons to be totally truthful.

Anyway, here we go again – lesson learned. I will never again neglect the things that belong completely to me. In 2015, I painstakingly build my start-up to a place where it was paying all my bills and if I could do it before, I’ll do it again. Time to go crazy, as in crazy busy.
