I remember when I was a little girl about 4 years old and my mom, dad and two older sisters went to Williamson, NC, but they left me with my grandma and granddad. I was promised a toy so this was one tine when I kept looking out the windows and sitting on porch to see if they were turning in the drive way. I remember vividly what my grandma said to me. She said, “a Watched Pot never boils”, let’s play a game to make time pass.

That saying has stuck with me! It’s priceless to have such a nugget to pass on to my children. As an adult when I think on Waiting for my blessings and promises of God to be pulled into the natural realm this saying resonates even stronger.

Years ago as I waited on God to answer prayers I did nothing but wait. I mean really I just waited. Now I know better. I know that the waiting room of God is a place to develop my character. It’s a place to strengthen my faith but most importantly it’s place where I can really learn who God is.

Here are a few things you can do while you wait

1. Read your bible and study what you are reading. Utilize my SPORTS technique.

2. Praise God. Praise Him for who He is.

3. Be thankful. Thank God from your heart for all He has done for you.

4. Meditate on the love of Christ.

5. Worship God for He is worthy to be worshipped.

This puts a purpose on your wait. It allows you to focus on God and not what you are waiting to take hold of. So as you wait for that water in that pot to boil do so with a praise in your mouth and a spirit of worship.

Wait in joy, expectancy, peace, thanksgiving, work mode and in love.
