Considering I just worked out at the gym a block away, and then walked into this place to buy some delicious pastries I can pretty much say that workout was a waste. But these treats were so damn good! Waistline be damned!

The Pastry dominatrix had me in her clutches. The gluttonous Adonis in me approves!

Dominique Ansel Kitchen in NYC has become famous for its mouth watering pastries, and with worthy acclaim. As for the actual facility it’s kind of small, with one community table to sit at, and a funky stair case pyramid with stadium-like seating that rise to the ceiling. Kind of a cool spot to drop in on and enjoy a tasty pastry, cup of cappuccino, or some nice hot soup and a croissant on a cold wintry NYC day.

For the love of “Nom Nom Nom” as soon as you walk in and look into the glass counter to the left you view all kinds of deliciousness – baked goods, cookies, croissants, brownies, cakes, tarts, and many more. Not only do they have terrific pastry selections but they also serve up some hearty comfort food eats here. You don’t come here to eat lean so throw that diet out the window and happily consume all the calories!

Not too long ago we dropped in to savor a few sweets before seeing John Wick 2, and we went with the Cinnamon Spun Roll with Apple Jack Frosting, a few Cannele De Bordeaux, and some cappuccinos. Ohhhh Myyyyy! That day after my gym session we pigged out on their Dark Chocolate Flourless Cookies, their famous Brown Sugar DKA’s, and almost had an orgasm of diabetic pleasure. Dammit- now I really must suck it up, get on line early AM, and try a Cronut. I was resisting for a long time, but now might just give in.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Can be a bit pricey but the quality is very worth it.

The Buff Man in me says – NO! The Fat Man in me says  – YESSSSSS!!!

And the Fat Man usually wins. Damn you! Now back to the treadmill and miles more of running. The Fat Man can be very cruel indeed.
