Kouros by Yves Saint-Laurent

It is fair to say that throughout the years I have encountered a lot of perfumes. Some are marketed for women others are for men. Some fragrances are sweet and some are spicy. Some are regrettable and there are those that simply stick into one's memory because of how wonderful it was made.

Kouros by Yves Saint-Laurent was introduced in 1981. But I only had the opportunity to smell in 1995. I still remember that day ever so vividly! My boss (female) also loved perfumes. One summer day in April, when I came into the office there was a scent trail of the most unique kind. It was soapy and yet there was something dirty about it. It was absolutely attractive! I followed where the scent was coming from and found put that my boss was wearing the fragrance. I asked her about it and she smiled and said Kouros. Then she showed me the white splash bottle and had me try the fragrance. It was amazing! But I guess what surprised me more was the fact that Kouros is actually a men's fragrance but my boss wore it anyway!

After that exoerience i promised myself that I would own a bottle and ce Ocyober of 1995 i was a proud owner of a splash bottle of Kouros! I thoroughly enjoyed the fragrance, it was strong and bold. The longevity was amazing moreso its sillage. Sadly, I was not a collector hack then. I used up the fragrance and when i couldn't find any of it. I simply moved on and got myself a different fragrance.

Now after so many years, fate must have wanted me to own Kouros as I have been introduced to an online community of fragrance lovers. And this paved the way for me to meet someone who could introduce me to a vintage bottle of this powerhouse scent.

It sure brings back memories though I do miss the splash bottle because the one I have is a spray type, But nonetheless it remains potent. Kouros is still in production and has had a lot of flankers and sadly this jas undergone major reformulation. I javen't had the chance to smell the reformulated scent but a lot of people say the covet note has been toned down significantly.

Anyway, now that I have this vintage bottle i plan on keeping this and getting the reformulated bottle so that I could use it daily.
