These days, choice no longer part of the equation when it comes to getting a Hospital Bed. It has more to do with luck. As the COVID-19 virus resurges with a larger number of infections daily, the capacity of many hospitals is being pushed to the brink. While it is scary to imagine the scenes from Italy that shocked the world when its health care system broke down, it might soon be a reality for us.
The Enhanced Community Quarantine will end come Sunday. After that, the government will reassess the situation whether to prolong it or end it. Whatever the decision might be, as citizens, the only thing left to do is to exercise personal vigilance.
Preventing ourselves from contracting the virus, means less load for our health care system. That may seem like a small contribution. But if we all do our share, we might just be able to turn this scary scenario around and make it more manageable.
