Keeping Vigilant

Wearing face mask and face shield

"It looks stupid" "It's a huge bother" "It's uncomfortable" Therese are some of the more common complaints when wearing a Mask and Face shield.

There are establishments that would allow you to enter if you have a mask but there are those whose standards require both Face Shield and mask. While I agree with most of the sentiments, I do not think apart from complaining, that there is anything any of us can do about it at the moment.

In some countries where inoculation has begun, they might be able to do away with the face shield and simply wearing a mask might suffice. However, in the Philippines, the vaccine has yet to arrive and officials are still heavily embroiled in all sorts of politicking. And now with the new strain of the virus from the United Kingdom, being detected in some parts of the country, it is probably best for every citizen to remain vigilant and do so of their own accord.

The COVID-19 pandemic is an attack on every single person. Therefore, universal involvement is necessary. One cannot wait for the government for every little detail, and to be constantly reminded that the threat of infection is very much present. I hope everyone does their share of observing safety protocols and bear the little sacrifice of comfort in exchange for reduced risk of transmission.

If we want to heal as one then we should also fight the virus and observe safety measures as one!
