My Universe

Most people would find it strange, but this is how I picture my universe. Just as every planet has an orbit, I expect people to always have a specific place or location, where they will stay.

My neighborhood where my home is, is at the center of my universe. Work (the people in it, even colleagues who became my friends), friends from the past, people I knew when I was younger who lived outside of my neighborhood, even my long-time friends, in my mind all of them have their own place, their own orbit so to speak.

I am not the type of person who likes or would ever enjoy mixing these together. In the Aner universe everything has been compartmentalized. When I leave work, and retreat to the comfort of my home, it is as if I am an astronaut who left Mars and went back to Earth. And I expect to spend my time undivided and uninterrupted with my family, only with my family.

Therefore, if anyone would ever show unannounced or if say a friend would be to suddenly move into my neighborhood, it causes a great deal of mental distress for me. It is as if the delicate balance of my entire world has been tipped to one side. Like a planet that has gone out of orbit and crashed into Earth, and needless to say something like that is cataclysmic!

People around me, those who really know me, knows this. But for most, they would just think or say that I'm weird or whatnot. I don't care, this is how I am. I was like this when I was young, and now halfway through life, I do not see change would ever come. It is much too late for that.
