Black Orchid by Tom Ford

Of all the fragrances I currently own, Black Orchid is the most expensive because my sister purchased this at a mall in Singapore, while the rest in my collection was purchased from online retailers. Aside from being expensive, this one I guess is one of the modern powerhouse fragrances that I really desired.

Black Orchid is a blind buy because I wanted it even if I never smelled it. I was only basing my expectation on what I read from online reviewers at fragrantica and youtube. When this was finally handed to me, I held it preciously and I kept having second thoughts on whether I should the box, as if whatever magic the fragrance hold would dissipate if I do so. But eventually my eagerness to sample this perfume prevailed.

Just as what I have read and seen from numerous review, Black Orchid is gourmand. It is exotic, rich, scent of that is sweet and earthy at the sane time. I get floral, woody notes, and that chocolate goodness. And yet, this fragrance does give off that certain dark feeling. It does live up to its name, creating an aura that is unique, beautiful, and darkly mysterious.

The performance of this fragrance is very good both sillage and longevity. Spray this on and people will turn their heads, they will smell you and long after you have left the room, the scent will still linger. Marketed for women but surprisingly more men purchase this fragrance and in some perfume counters you will find this perfume displayed along with the men's colognes. If you are man who is not afraid to be different, give this perfume a try, you won't be sorry.
