Angel eau de parfum by Thierry Mugler

Gourmand in the fragrance world connotes a smell that is akin to food. Perfumes under this category usually evoke smells that are sweet and edible and this scent is a pioneer in this field.

Angel by Thierry Mugler to me smells of coconut, berries, melon, chocolate, and caramel, wrapped in thick patchouli. It has a deliciously sweet, exotic scent that is guaranteed to make heads turn. I will not list down all the ingredients used to make this but trust me when I say that it is a lot!

Performance wise this one is definitely not for weak of hearts. It leaves a powerful scent trail and lasts an easy 12 hours on my skin. At four sprays my brother said he can't even smell his own fragrance when I am with him while wearing this perfume. This one is marketed for women and it has a "for men" version. Both are in my collection but I prefer this one, because it is creamier and smoother.

In the fragrance community, this one is very popular and it has a polarizing effect. Some love it others are literally disgusted by it. In my opinion though this has something to do with being impatient because although the opening of this perfume is like one monstrous wave of olfactory assault, coming so strong that if you do not hold onto something it will either drown you or send you flying away. But give it time to develop and when you get to the dry down this is a really delicious perfume. I remember a youtube fragrance reviewer named Katie Puckrick and according to her she loves Angel 10 hours after she has sprayed it.

Angel for me is a fragrance that will forever be included in my fragrance wardrobe. It strong and powerful, as expected from something that is not of this world.
