If you are a basketball fan, specifically the NBA, you probably known a Golden State Warriors basketeer or cager Klay Thompson. Well, just to refresh your memory and get to know him better, Klay Alexander Thompson was born February 8, 1990. He is a four-time NBA champion with the Warriors, he is a five-time NBA All-Star, a two-time All-NBA Third Team honoree and was once named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. He has also won gold medals with the United States national team on their 2014 World Cup team and 2016 Olympic team.
Thompson played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10 (now Pac-12). He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by Golden State with the 11th overall pick.
Due to his popularity, especially among kids, Klay Thompson gathered an ample amount of fans all over the world. The shooting guard superstar recently confirmed why he's so valued within the league and the rest of the basketball universe. Thompson is a down-to-earth guy who doesn't hesitate to make life better for other people. Recently, he starred in a wholesome moment with a 15-year-old Warriors fan that wished to meet him.
Teaming up with the Make-A-Wish foundation, Klay met Joseph Tagaban, who is battling a rare form of cancer.
Besides being one of the best shooters in NBA history, a legend in the Bay, and one of the most iconic players in Warriors history, Klay is one of the coolest people in the league. Every season, the shooting guard surprises people with his chill attitude and humbleness. He made Joseph's day, and that's something he'll never forget.
Joseph Tagaban is 15 years old as of this writing 3rdquarter of 2022, he is Filipino American and has been a fan of Klay Thompson even before the teen started to play basketball in fifth grade. He became a bigger fan when he saw how Thompson dealt with his own physical setbacks.
The Tagaban family are from a small town located between British Columbia and the Gulf of Alaska. Their world turned upside down when the basketball-loving youth came down with the cancer diagnosis, his mother, Jessielea, said.
Tagaban went through rounds of chemotherapy starting last year and apparently went into remission. However, his doctors are still keeping a close watch, so Joseph has to travel to Seattle every three months for tests.
One of the highlight of their meet up os Klay Thompson took Tagaban and his younger brother, Jacob, in his custom Lincoln Continental convertible for some ice cream. Thompson sent Joseph off with a box full of Warriors gear, including several signed jerseys. “It really was a dream come true,” Tagaban said.
