The new heated debate–To eat, To buy Organic–is it really the cause of the E-coli outbreak in Germany? Is Organic/Organic farming getting a bad rap? Are our animals on too much antibiotics? Are we on too much antibiotics? Are we better off growing our own victory gardens? I am growing my own tomatoes and cucumbers and I know exactly how they are being handled-with tender loving care. After the E-coli breakout in Germany, I decided to investigate further, if it is healthier to buy organic. I personally stay away from salad bars-not only the vegetables have my concern but the handlers and other customers who I feel are not very hand clean so to speak. Bean sprouts from an organic farm in northern Germany caused the E coli outbreak that has killed 31 people and infected thousands more, German officials said on Friday.

Organic farms fell under suspicion in the investigation because they do not use chemical fertilizers and put crops at greater risk of contamination from bacteria in manure.
