So, a few weeks back, I went on a week's Trip to Thailand - Bangkok and Pattaya to be precise, with Mrs! Before you ask me WHY!, the short answer is, Indians + Almost Zero Budget + Desperately need an International Holiday = Thailand! :D
Swear to God, the first words that came out of my mouth soon after landing at the suvarnabhumi airport were - O tere ki! Thailand me to saare mard apne Andy ke jaise hain! Jee haan, wahi big boss wale Andy bhayya! :D
Anyway, jokes apart! Overall, it is a nice place to visit, at least once in your lifetime, and that is enough! Pattaya is like bigger version of Goa - booze chicks and all that, you know. Whereas, Bangkok is like saadi Mumbai - on any given weekday, in a 24 hour period, you are bound to get stuck in traffic jams for at least 4 hours!
Oh, how can I forget the shopping part! It is a huge sarojini nagar if you ask me - the shopkeepers even know Hindi, for God's sake! A few people I know were even abused with Maan ki and Behen ki on hard bargaining! Phew! I didn't get a chance to hear those, but then my tour guide was often found hillariously speaking accented Hindi words - chalo chalo, jaldi chalo ! :O
Plus, there are so so so many Indians out there - each waiting for an opportunity to do a knock knock on another desi, and asking him to click a family photograph! The one who knock knocked me, made the following pitch - Hello, my name is XYZ, and he is my husband. He is from FMS, you know a very famous college in Delhi!
My reply was - Bhe**, tumhari wajah se hi in firangio ne gaaliya seekhi hain! :D
Bhayya, hindi sunni hoti aur desi dekhne hote, to chandani chowk hi chale jaate !
But then, it is a nice place to visit, at least once! :D Mrs enjoyed a lot, and ended up buying an extra suitcase to fit in all the shopping she did! :P
