Welcome to 2020, The Year of the Rat per Chinese astrology. I am really excited about this year because it mimics the year I was born, both a leap year and the fact that my Chinese astrological animal is the rat! Clinique released this very limited edition Cheek Pop Highlighter in honor of Chinese New Year 2020.

As soon as I saw that the actual Highlighter itself was in the shape of a cute rat, I knew I had to order it. I even made sure to take all these photographs before swatching it so that you could see the full design.

Clinique “Gold Celebration Pop” is a light golden highlight with silver shimmer in it. It’s a really nice highlighter for those who like more sophisticated looking glows. It doesn’t have any glitter or large particles of shimmer in it and is perfect for everyday wear.

It puts down good pigmentation and I found the best way of applying it is with a fan brush or just your fingertips.

Here is what it looks like on my cheekbones. I also placed it on the bridge of my nose, my temples, and pretty much wherever the sun would naturally hit. It has a luminosity to it that looks really natural.
