Review: Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face Wash & Purifying Neem Scrub

With the wide variety of bath and body products present in the market, it gets extremely confusing for a user to understand what the best buy is for them. One has to be especially careful when buying Face products. I have always had a great amount of faith in Himalaya products because they live up to the expectations set by the brand. I have been using the Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face Wash for over two weeks now and I am pretty happy with the result. The key ingredients are cucumber which leaves a cooling effect on your skin and aloe vera, which makes your skin feel moisturized and hydrated after washing.

This Face Wash has a creamy texture and lathers up pretty well without making the skin feel itchy and dry. Having said that, with the kind of texture it has, I think it’s better suited for people who have dry to combination skin. Those with oily skin might find it to be a little greasy. It is priced in same range as the other Himalaya face products, starting at Rs.55 for 50ml going up to Rs.100 for 100ml. Overall, if you’re looking for a face wash which can keep your skin moisturized and hydrated, especially in the winter, I would definitely recommend this one. (Splurge Score: 4/5)

I have also been using the Himalaya Purifying Neem Scrub regularly, along with the aloe Vera Face Wash, as it serves the purpose of removing dead skin and bacteria from your face. The neem scrub has just the right amount of small apricot granules present in it, making it gentle yet effective on the skin. It removes all the blackheads and whiteheads from stubborn places like the nose and chin without leaving it dry and damaged. The face feels smooth and bump-free. However, one must regularly use the product to reap the benefits it promises. I’d suggest using the scrub at least once a week, but never more than twice, as it can be a little harsh and may irritate the skin.

I would definitely recommend this product to people with oily skin and those who are prone to pimples as the medicinal power of neem prevents the build up of bacteria. People with combination skin will need to moisturize their face a little as it can have a bit of a drying effect. Those with dry skin should remember to add a little honey to it or apply aloe vera to ensure that they don’t end up with a nasty break out or end up with sand paper skin right before a date!
