Friends, Burritos, Memories

3 wonderful things!

FRIENDS
Michael and Elise Pope came by today. When I hugged her, I couldn't believe she was real. Was I dreaming? How did they get here? Smiles. They brought along Evan, Ethan and Elana. Sigh. I LOVE them! Elana, with her giggles and exuberance, just gave me reason to have hope and joy. Ethan, with his big brown eyes and kind smile...I remember those deep brown eyes when he was but a couple hours old. Evan, kind blue eyes, deep thoughts, gentle ways, quick smile, hopes for the future. I soaked in long conversations with Michael and Elise. We reminisced. Talked about tomorrows. Shared parenting secrets. Longed for more time together. Looked forward to Heaven, where several of our friends already reside.

Burritos
But of course we had burritos for lunch. I slow-cooked the beef all day yesterday, with chili peppers, chili powder, and tapatio sauce. Served on soft tortillas. And Delish fruit salad on the side.

Memories
Isn't it lovely how memories come flooding back? Good ones, encouraging ones. Ones that make us appreciate friendship fully.

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:3
