Video Clip of The Week: ADLT VDEO, “Break”

With this being the Halloweekend and all, I was hoping I could find a super spooky video for today’s clip; but that did not happen. Sorry, for the lack of near-Halloween frights, but I’ll make it up to you by introducing you to a scary great video instead! ADLT VDEO is what happens when two artists come together to re-imagine the genres that once defined them, casting the components into an altogether new sound. Fronted by LA’s Mindy Jones (Moby) and Luke Top (Fool’s Gold), this is pop seen through a glass darkly. It is music bent to the shapeshifting taste of its makers. Okay!

“Break” has an easy dance feel thanks to a rolling rhythm and undeniable tribal beat, punctuated by attention-grabbing hand claps. Jones’ voice reminds of Terry Nunn from Berlin but with a broader range, and softer delivery that still keeps the dynamics in the mix.  Visually, the effects-enhanced live performance clip hints that ADLT VDEO are a captivating live act. The group will host a video premiere and listening party on November 2nd from 8 PM to Midnight at The Semi-Tropic (a Wine Bar that also serves food) in Los Angeles, so if you live in the area why not check it out? Enjoy!
