TDF Weekly Update 3.23.16

Wondering what we’ve been up to lately? The Discriminating Fangirl Weekly Update will keep you all informed about what we’re into this week and what we’re looking forward to in the weeks to come. You can always follow us on our Facebook page, Twitter, or personal social media platforms for more.

Amanda
Reading: A Dream of Ice by Gillian Anderson and Jeff Rovin. The first one was okay, but I still feel obligated to read it because it’s by Gillian and I’m a hopeless fangirl. I’m working on my “Dueling Book Challenges” (BookRiot’s Read Harder Challenge and PopSugar’s 2016 Reading Challenge), and this takes care of my “A book written by a celebrity” requirement for the latter.

Listening to: A bunch of Postmodern Jukebox tracks that I just downloaded.

Watching: Grantchester season 1, but it’s more like rewatching. I also got in a copy of Sylvia Scarlett from work which I’d only heard of recently thanks to the You Must Remember This podcast.

Waiting for: Grantchester season 2 on PBS. I’m out in the boonies so Netflix and Amazon Prime are only a dream for me, this means I have to watch everything the old fashioned way.

Brittany
Reading: Cut & Run series by Abigail Roux, You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day, and various other romance novels

Listening to: Critical Role playlist on Spotify

Watching: Critical Role on YouTube, Lucifer, The 100, The Walking Dead, and Black Sails

Waiting for: Outlander season 2 and Captain America: Civil War

Pamela
Reading: Fellside by M. R. Carey. I love Mike Carey’s work, particularly his Felix Castor series, so I always try to pick up his new stuff for review. This one’s coming out April 5th, so keep an eye out for my review in the next week or so.

Listening to: The endless whir of a DVD drive as my husband rips hundreds of DVDs for backup copies. Oh, and I’ve had “King” by GRADES pop up on my playlists a lot lately.

Watching: This Old House on the PBS app. This is how I know I’ve reached peak adult.

Waiting for: I’m also really anticipating season 2 of Grantchester. I loved the first season and James Norton in particular. Come on, PBS!

Keep an eye out for next week’s post. Let us know what you’re up to this week in the comments below.
