Back in January, we celebrated the beginning of our 60th year and May marks the month in 1962 when our founder, the late JK Douglas OBE, set up a fund for essential Medical research after losing family to cancer. What a journey it’s been since then – for everyone involved. The growth and effectiveness of several major medical charities in Britain owes much to the funds generated by Candis. But JK had always had a sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference.
