Don’t Waste your life!

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. James 4:13–16.

No promise of tomorrow

Since today may be all you have, consider the following:

  1. Work on your relationship with God.

  2. You better live today and fully engage in what you are doing, who you are with, and what you are experiencing. Forget the past and the future. Live today.

  3. Be grateful. Thank God for the simple everyday pleasures of life. Thank God for the opportunities you have today.

  4. Express your love to the people in your life.

  5. Act. Move. Stop waiting for a better time. It is action time.

  6. Mend the fences, express your feelings, and work on your relationships. Let go of grudges and seek forgiveness. Your bitterness is only poisoning today.

  7. Step out of your comfort zone.

  8. Be generous. Share your time, resources, and talents.

  9. Take time to recharge physically, mentally, and emotionally.

  10. Get it done today.

Don’t Worry

You have enough on your plate today.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:34

Since you have enough trouble for today, consider this

  1. Cast all your care on the Lord in prayer, and then get up and do your work.

  2. Decide what you need to accomplish today and focus on that. Focus.

  3. Limit your time watching and reading media that loves to overwhelm you, cause you to worry, and get you off focus.

  4. Work the process and leave the product in the hands of the Lord. Do what you can do and accept that much is out of your control.

  5. If you feel like you have to worry, limit your time doing so. Write it down, lay it before the Lord in prayer, and get up trusting Him.

  6. Gratitude for what you have and what God has done will help you drive out the worry.

  7. Do what you can where you can with what you have, and leave the rest in the hands of the Lord.

Count your days

Since each day is a gift from God, consider being as careful with days as you are with money. Do what needs to be done today.

Today is the day of salvation. Trust Jesus and accept the free gift of salvation.

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of Salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
II Corinthians 6:2

Count your days and make your days count.

How would you live and act if you do exactly how much time you have left?

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto Wisdom. Psalms 90:12

Use your time wisely. Don’t waste your minutes because you can’t get them back.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Colossians 4:5

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Ephesians 5:15-18

So Count your days

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. Psalm 39:4

Ask for wisdom to understand life

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12
