Heaton Moor is known for it’s thriving restaurant scene. As you walk through the leafy streets, you can’t help but notice the number of different bars and restaurants that cater to so many tastes and preferences. From classic Italian cuisine to exotic Mediterranean dishes and authentic Spanish tapas, the choices are endless.

During my regular culinary adventures, I’ve found myself drawn to a number of popular establishments that caught my attention. One such spot was Terra & Mare on Shaw Road, an Italian restaurant known for its authentic flavours and the chef’s 25 years of experience in creating mouth-watering dishes. Another of my favourite stops is La Cantina Tapas Bar at the other end of Heaton Moor Road, a rustic space where patrons can relish traditional Spanish tapas in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

With each restaurant visit, my appreciation for Heaton Moor’s vibrant dining scene grows. And with every sumptuous meal, it become evident that both locals and visitors alike are truly spoilt for choice in this enticing, food-loving suburb.

Heaton Moor is a well connected suburb in Stockport. It’s easily accessible as it’s situated close to Heaton Chapel train station (on the mainline to Manchester City Centre) and bus routes along the A6 (Wellington Road North). The area offers a variety of restaurants, catering to various cuisines and dietary requirements, and is super convenient for locals and visitors to explore the gastronomic delights offered by Heaton Moor restaurants.

Heaton Moor Road

Heaton Moor Road and Shaw Road serve as the heart of the dining scene in Heaton Moor. It is a bustling area lined with numerous restaurants, cafés, and bars. There is something to suit every palate, from Italian to Indian, and from seafood to steakhouses.

Some of my favourite brunch spots include Pokusevski’s Delicatessen and Cafe, known for their delicious food and cosy atmosphere. Another great option for brunch is the Rock Salt Cafe, which is a fantastic spot for eating al fresco while indulging in a spot of people watching!

Lunch Choices

For lunch options, I highly recommend trying out La Cantina. They offer delicious and traditional Spanish tapas food, generous portions, and a great drinks menu. If you’re looking for something more ‘on-the-go’, the Seashell fish and chip shop is a great option. Best chippy in the Heatons if you ask me!

Pizza Places

When it comes to pizza in Heaton Moor, Roost is a must-visit place. As the name suggests, it’s focus is chicken but the pizza and chips are simply divine. With a laid back and warm environment, it’s easy to see why it’s a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. If you’re looking for something a little more authentic Italian, Leoni’s is a great option for tasty pizza (and more!) and a relaxed atmosphere in which to drink.

Restaurants with Outdoor Seating

In Heaton Moor, there are quite a few restaurants offering outdoor seating for those who enjoy dining al fresco. I’ve come across some great options during my visits and would like to share a few with you.

First and foremost, The Elizabethan, a British dining experience with a huge outdoor seating area, serves up delicious dishes and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ve found it ideal for any occasion, whether it be leisurely burgers with loved ones or a more lively session with friends while enjoying drinks the outdoor seating area.

Another noteworthy restaurant with a smaller outdoor seating area is Casa De Moor. As the name suggests, it offers Mediterranean cuisine full of flavour and variety. From my experience, their attentive table service complements the dining experience perfectly.

At the other end of Heaton Moor Road is the Moor Top pub. It provides a mix of comfortable indoor seating and a sprawling outdoor area, along with a delicious menu combining traditional gastro-pub options and things from further a field. The pub was renovated a few years ago and they’ve a truly fantastic job of creating a really welcoming and modern setting.

Lastly, Cork of the North is another option not to miss. This cosy and somewhat overlooked spot welcomes guests with not only its outdoor seating but also an impressive selection of wines and platters.

To summarise, Heaton Moor has a nice variety of restaurants with outdoor seating options catering to different palates and culinary preferences. I’m certain you’ll find a suitable spot for your next dining adventure.

Cafes and Coffee Shops in Heaton Moor

There are several cafes and coffee shops that I’ve found to be particularly charming and enjoyable. Each of them offers unique experiences, often with delightful baked goods and a warm, welcoming environment.

At Juno Cafe, I’ve found that their selection of beverages is broad, with a focus on quality coffee varieties. The atmosphere is relaxing, making it an ideal spot for a coffee break or a casual meeting with friends.

My visit to Nook Cafe Bar was nothing short of delightful. Their selection of freshly baked goods and pastries were perfectly complemented by their artisanal coffee. This is definitely a must-try for anyone seeking a cosy, rustic bakery experience.

Another popular spot is Moor Tea. Here, the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere keep me coming back for their amazing selection of teas and delicious light bites.

As a fan of coffee, Heaton Moor’s cafes and coffee shops always provide me with a memorable experience. Each establishment has its own unique charm, offering various delicious treats and excellent coffee to indulge in.

Weekly Dining Guide

Monday to Friday

During the weekdays, I highly recommend starting your culinary journey with a visit to Casa de Moor. Serving a delightful range of brunch and breakfast options, this welcoming bar and restaurant offers a great way to kick-start each day.

If you’re looking for a delicious lunch option, Pokusevski’s Delicatessen and Cafe serves an exquisite selection of sandwiches, salads and gourmet treats. For dinner, I encourage you to try Heatons Tandoori, an Indian restaurant known for its authentic flavours, delectable grilled dishes and excellent service.

Weekends

On Saturdays and Sundays, I like to indulge in a more leisurely dining experience. Start your weekend with a visit to Rock Salt for their superb breakfast and brunch menu. This dog-friendly and family-oriented venue offers a warm atmosphere, making it a great choice for your weekend morning meals.

For a unique dining option on Saturday evening, be sure to book a table at Where the Light Gets In. While not located in Heaton Moor, this is one of the best restaurants in Stockport and offers a truly memorable experience, with a creative and ever-changing menu that showcases the best seasonal ingredients.

Finally, on Sunday, it’s hard to resist the classic British comfort of a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Head to The Elizabethan for their beautifully prepared roast dinner, complete with all your favourite sides.

Don’t forget that Heaton Moor also offers a range of takeaway options – in case you wish to enjoy a cosy meal at home. Mhariam takeaway is a popular choice for those craving delicious Indian and Pakistani cuisine on any day of the week.

Whichever way your taste buds take you, there’s a wealth of dining options to explore throughout the week.

Great Food in Heaton Moor

Allow me to share some of my top choices with you, in hopes of making your dining experience in Stockport enjoyable.

One of the most underrated is the Plough on the Moor, a quirky British bar and pub. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with delicious dishes that keep me coming back for more. The Moor Top is a must-try for anyone exploring the area.

Another noteworthy dining option is Casa de Moor. This bar and restaurant offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes, alongside a broad range of beverages. I have found the food here consistently delectable, and the service always attentive and accommodating.

Just a fifteen minute walk from Heaton Chapel Station, you’ll come across Valentino’s Ristorante Pizzeria. This Italian restaurant brings the taste and warmth of Italy to Stockport, with mouthwatering pizzas and pasta dishes.

For those seafood lovers like me, I highly recommend visiting The Easy Fish Co. This restaurant offers an array of beautifully presented seafood dishes, served in a modern setting. The quality of the food and service always leave me with a great impression.

In conclusion, Stockport’s Heaton Moor area offers an incredible variety of dining options for all tastes. There are plenty of exciting finding to discover, making it an exciting location for food enthusiasts like me.
