Kennedy John Victor (born April 17, 1966), commonly known as Vikram, is an Indian actor who mostly works in Tamil movies.
He is one of Tamil cinema’s most awarded actors, having received seven Filmfare Awards South, a National Film Award, and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
Among his other awards are the Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu government in 2004 and an honorary doctorate from the Popular University of Milan in May 2011.
Vikram is the first Indian actor to obtain a doctorate in acting from a European university.

Vikram Early Life and Education
Vikram was born on April 17, 1966, as Kennedy John Victor to a Christian father and a Hindu mother. His father, John Victor (alias Vinod Raj), was a Paramakudi native who ran away from home to pursue a career in cinema, but only in minor roles.
Rajeshwari, Vikram’s mother, was a government officer who rose to the position of sub-collector.
Vikram attended St. Bede’s School in Chennai and earned a degree in Economics from Loyola College in Chennai. He began his career as a model, appearing in a number of television advertisements.
In the 1992 film En Kadhal Ennai, directed by R. Sundarrajan, he made his acting debut. The film was a commercial flop, although reviewers applauded Vikram’s performance.

Vikram’s career took off in the 2010s with the release of films such as Deiva Thirumagal (2011), Iru Mugan (2016), and Kaithi (2019).
