The National Meteorological Service (OMSZ) has issued an orange alert for 10 counties due to heat, according to the Saturday morning update.
This means that the weather conditions can bring severe heat, which can pose serious health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.
The average temperature is generally expected to be 25-27°C, but in some parts of the Great Plain and urban areas, temperatures around 28-29°C are forecasted. Such high temperatures can cause heatstroke and dehydration, so it is extremely important to stay hydrated, stay in cool places, and take necessary precautions.
According to the forecast, thunderstorms can also be expected on the first day of the weekend, with conditions for their formation in different parts of the country.
Thunderstorms are more likely to occur in border areas, but the appearance of thunderstorms is not completely ruled out in the northwestern and northern regions of the country.
Several phenomena can occur in the vicinity of stronger thunderstorm cells:
- Raging wind (~60-80 km/h): Strong wind gusts can occur in the vicinity of strong thunderstorms, which can be significant in strength and cause damage.
- Intense precipitation (10-30 mm): Thunderstorms are often accompanied by heavy rain showers, which can bring significant amounts of precipitation in a short period of time. This can lead to flooding and other water-related issues.
- Hail: Hail can also occur during intense thunderstorms, falling in the form of small or large pieces of ice. Hail can cause damage to vegetation and objects.
